Second Life Beggars

Second Life is the virtual reality that has taken over the world. For some a game and for others a lifestyle, Second Life has managed to catch on and stay in the heart and on the computers of a lot of people for many, many years. What makes Second Life interesting is the incredible variety of possibilities it offers, and for some it gives the freedom of doing things they wouldn’t try in real life.

There are many activities that make Second Life what it is, but it seems like the virtual reality is transforming more and more into what reality is like. Among the many residents of the grid it appears that beggars are now frequenting Second Life as well. In the last few years a lot of residents have made the discovery around large stores inside the grid.

People going out on the town (the virtual one, of course) always find something to do. For a while now residents visiting the shopping districts of the grid have noticed the presence of peculiar characters asking for a hand out. The most common one is asking for a few hundred lindens to change the skin or shape of something. The Second Life beggar always specifies that he or she is new to the game and that’s why those extra points are in order.

Beggars in Second Life could be less numerous than one might think. As with other code crimes in the virtual reality, someone behind the keyboard is using a script of some sort in order to randomly spring a message to passers-by. The message is always the same in the case of the same beggar resident, only the name changes.

So it seems that Second Life really does have everything. But measures are always taken in order to remove anything that the virtual reality should not be exposed to.
