Initially launched in 2003, the site was not very successful at first. Using this money, a Second Life character can buy clothes, houses, cars,but they can also rent shops and lots or they can even get married.

Actually the whole world is re-created in Second Life. All major companies and brands have a virtual office and there are also a lot of events. People launch books, throw parties, get married, open shops, organize meetings and theoretically everybody can attend. But also like in real life, for some special events you need an invitation. And of course, you have to dress well, because Second Life fashion is very important.
